Getting duplicate songs in iTunes is inevitable. And as your music library grows, duplicate files in iTunes can quickly become unmanageable. After searching everywhere, I finally found a solution that will fix my duplicate song problem.

TidySongs is quite possibly the best program available for finding and removing duplicate songs in your iTunes music library. And it finds and removes songs for Mac and Windows! The best part is that it does a lot of other things too, like fix song details, add missing album art, and organize genres. I’ve used it on several computers and it works perfectly.

An iTunes Alternative

Songbird is an open source music player project — utilizing Mozilla Layout Engine (MLE) as its rendering base — that looks to unseat or at least give iTunes a run for its money. Although it doesn’t have anything close to the iTunes Music Store, it does have something that iTunes doesn’t have — a built in browser with features for easily finding and downloading music on the Web. They recently released version 0.6, which is a stable and public beta version of their player.

If you liked Juno, you will most definitely like Rocket Science. For anyone who has seen the movie, they’ll know that the music throughout it is amazing. Eef Barzelay created the Rocket Science soundtrack, which is a must have for any audio collection. Here’s a video of one of the best songs on the album, I love the unknown.

There exists four horses, that if clicked on, can make beautiful music. In fact, clicking on them to make them sing, or not sing, will create your own unique song that your children’s children will enjoy for years to come.

I originally found this here and I have no idea who made. Their server was so slow, I copied it to my server to make sure you could enjoy it in its full glory.

A Killer Search Engine for Music

Songza is a search engine for music. Unlike Last.fm (which I love) or Rhapsody (which I hate), Songza permits users to choose exactly the song or artist they want to hear, and does not require them to subscribe or pay for its services. The interface is super clean and easy to use and the service – which I’m sure is one of the ways they make their money – makes it easy to purchase music you find and like.
